Tax Code D9985 - Should post automatically in the CDT box when billing for services
OMSVision calculates tax and posts tax automatically to a patient's ledger; however, it does not post the CDT code D9985 required by insurance carriers. This code must be entered manually or hand-written on all claims. Since the tax code is not found in any Fee Schedule list and is hardcoded in the program, please have D9985 as the CDT code associated with tax. MetLife, Aetna, Cigna, and many other insurance carriers pay for this tax. Please fix this. Thank you.
1 voteIn the 14.2 version, there is a setting in preferences/financial to select a CDT code for tax instead of using the default internal code.

Family pay
When posting a family pay, it would be very helpful if we could choose the amount applied to each patient's account.
1 voteHi! there is a preference setting in preferences/operation to ‘Allow manual entry of Family Payments’ so that you can select the amount to pay to each family member.

HIPAA contacts
When typing in contacts in the HIPAA I would like to type in the relationship to patient rather than have a drop down choice of only 3 things (one being 'other' which is not very descriptive)

Capitalize more than one letter
We need to be able to capitalize a letter OTHER THAN the first letter in names and addresses. For example, patients with hyphenated last names or names like O’Brien, McMillan, etc. Same with road names.

Add new codes to all fee schedules at once
When the CDT codes come out each year, new codes are introduced. It would be nice to do a 'batch' update and add that code to all fee schedules at once, instead of doing it individually.

Include ALL TREATED patients in REFERRER FINANCIAL REPORTS.
Include ALL TREATED patients in REFERRER FINANCIAL REPORTS. We only get meaningful data if the patient count is correct. Many referrers will send patients back (sometimes years later) for other procedures. Your report will not count them in the patient numbers. By only including NEW patients, we cannot get accurate numbers (patient or $$$)

Build the X12 835 Interface
Currently all OMS clients are stuck with using Payerpath as the only vendor because Schein did not build an industry standard interface that could export to all eclaims vendors. Payerpath's technology and reports use a "paper" claim interface and thus are a VERY UNSOPHISTICATED compary compared to Web MD and other advanced vendors. This is seen daily in the comparison of how medical claims are more time consuming to upload than the dental claims

Need to be able to put different ICD 9 codes per procedure without creating multiple claims
Program currently when posting medical codes, the HCFA claim creates different claims if we do not put the Codes in the same order. We have codes that need to be on the same claim, but they use defferent ICD 9 codes. need this corrected.

CO2 monitor
The ASA is now recommending exhaled CO2 monitoring with moderate and deep sedation. This may not be AAOMS standard yet but we do need the vital signs table to show exhaled CO2 (if you have CO2 monitor) This is still no the case. I have the Ngenuity Criticare with CO2 ans this should not be hard to add.

Criticare - cable lengths
Are there any improvements?
1 voteCable lengths are a function of the cable themselves and as such will not change. Criticare does now offer a BlueTooth interface that has been shown to increase the distance between the computer and the VSM itself. You can contact Criticare directly for more information.

Put letters (documents) in date order as opposed to alphabetical order
In the document tab the letters that are sent out used to be in date order now they are in alphabetical order we found it so much easier
to check on what was sent to patients or referring doctors when they were in date order1 voteRightClick the treeView (left pane) and select sort → by Date. Also, the is a preference to change the default sort order. V2103

The margins in Case Notes need to be set so that these will print properly
When we attempt to print notes from Case Notes, the top line is always cut off (this occurs on EVERY page, not just the first page) and the right margin is set for the middle of the page rather than on the right side of the page. We have to adjust this every time. We then click on "SAVE CHANGES" but it does not save the changes. If we go back in to the case notes, we would have to make these changes all over again.

Put a 'Y' in box 24C of CMS-1500
We need the ability to put a 'Y' in box 24C of our medical claim forms to indicate to the insuance company that treatment was emergent. Our claims are being denied sometimes because we didn't get pre-authorization, which we didn't have time to do as treatment was emergent! "Claim Extras" has a drop-down box for "Service Authorization Exception", but choosing "3-Emergency Care" from that list doesn't actually put anything on the printed claim form...

Ecliams needs an option to attach EHR narratives.
You shouldn't have to exit the software to use a third party software to create a file outside of the patients account so that you can attach it to their eclaims, some patients have up to 8 items that need attachments . we should be able to attach an EHR narrative directly from within OMS. The current method requires too many steps and leaves a huge margin for error in attachments to wrong patients.

Diagnosis Code Field for Prescriptions
Pharmacies recently started calling us requesting a diagnosis code for single agent narcotics. An optional field for "Diagnosis Code" under prescriptions that would allow us to input that code for the pharmacy, when necessary, would be super helpful for the doctors and front of office staff.

Fix tooth selector
I would like the tooth selector fixed while working inside narratives. Currently, the only way to add teeth numbers to my narratives is hand type them, or use the tooth selector, which used to pull the numbers from the case. Now it is always blank and a time waster to enter them again. Another fix would be to allow the teeth insertable table of the EHR fields to add the teeth from the case type in a sentence format 1, 16, 17 and 32 instead of in a table and column format.

Document Center - Global Sort Option
In the current version of OMS Vision (12.1.0) you can sort a given patients documents in Document Center by Name or Date. The default is by Name and we prefer by Date. This means sorting each patients records as they are accessed. We would like to be able to select the "global" default setting for sorting patient documents incorporated into Document Center so that we can choose by Date if we would like all patient documents to be sorted this way.

EMR Icons
The icons in the task bar need to be rearranged. Dr. Gandy would like the power merge icon to be closer to the open template icon. It would be quicker if the icons were in the order that they are used.
