Add PDF format when capturing a document or insurance card via scanner instead of image type
OK… say they were scanning in a patient registration form or prior dental x-rays from another office.
When the user opens a patient document center and then clicks the “capture button” to capture a document such as patient registration forms, medical cards, or even dental images (such as panos or bitewings); there should be an option to have that format be a PDF format instead of a picture format for the following reasons:
- Documents scanned in as a PDF produce higher quality documents
- Which are easier to read when opened
- And yet the size of the document is relatively smaller than jpeg or bmp file formats
The image formats such as bmp or jpeg should only be reserved for when the user captures a photo of the patient. Documents that are scanned in and saved as image formats typically are larger.
This is available in the most recent update.
